Comments by Ivan Ruiz upon seeing the car

_This very rough 4.0 liter spyder sold for $478,500 at the Gooding auction in Amelia Island._

_The car was mostly complete and original, but needed everything. The scariest part was all the rust. There were large holes in the rocker panels and heavy electrolysis in the front wings. To restore this car correctly the exterior metal would have to be removed, the inner structure repaired and then the outer skin re-welded._

_I do not want to even guess what it will cost to restore, but it will take at least 3 years, probably longer._

_On the positive side, it is a 4.0 liter car with its dry type Lucas injection, so the new owner is at least starting with a car with all the right features._
