Fabio Collina from Maserati Classiche confirmed that this specific model was sold new in Rome on 19 October 1972 in “Blue Ischia” colour and with “Senape” tan leather interior. It is today in a beautiful “Rosso Fuoco” livery and has a black leather interior with lovely patina. It was restored with great care in Switzerland during the mid-1990s. The restoration was serious and meticulous, hence why the car looks so attractive. It remained in Switzerland when the previous owner bought it. Some work was then carried out in order to get the hydraulic system (spheres) functioning. Its current owner, a major collector from Luberon, purchased it in 2017 but parted with it due to the lack of use. The car was overhauled by its mechanic who replaced the transmitter and the clutch receiver. It is a car with a legendary design and so representative of the 1970s styling, a stroke of genius from Giugiaro.
