This Mistral Coupé left the factory on 06/05/1964, it has a 3.7-litre engine and comes with the manual ZF five-speed gearbox. With chassis number 044 and of course its production date it is one of the earliest Mistrals. Proof of that is in the suspension of the car. While later models have leaf springs, this one has coil springs. The factory liked to experiment with this in the early stages of production. The engine has been replaced throughout its life with an early Mistral engine. The internal engine number on the current engine is evidence of that. The external colour was “Grigio Milano” (Grey), and the Interior leather colour was Black
It is peculiar that the initial delivery area is mentioned as Abidjan (République de Côte d’Ivoire). The car did not go there but it could point into the direction of the first buyer being an ambassador, diplomat or an attaché to the embassy.
Recent history shows the car was in France registered to Monsieur Michel Leroy, 44 Avenue General De Gaulle, Mordelles ( société: SCI LAUNAY). from 10.6.1985? till September 1987.
Later, it was bought by Philippe Raemdonck, PR Classics bvba. In 2016 he carried out a restoration and engine revision. This work was done by Eric Philippe Brumenil in Seraing, Belgium (AMR SERAING bvba)
End of 2016 the car was sold to a collector in Belgium and has since received maintenance at Mistral Classics, Lauwe, Belgium.
