This Maserati Mistral 4000 was delivered new in France to a South Vietnamese dentist residing in Paris, Monsieur Tran Van Tri, on 27th April 1967. The car was registered on the French plate ‘3307 GT 78’. After Mr Van Tri died at the beginning of the 1990s, the Maserati came to the Netherlands where it was bought in 1991 by the current owner, who had the car inspected prior to his purchase by Italauto. Some minor works were carried out - new tyres, wheel balancing, tracking, and a new battery - before he could put the car on the road.

The Maserati was registered under its current Dutch registration ‘DH-05-94’, and at that time had recorded 48,084 kilometres. An enthusiast for Italian cars, the careful owner has serviced the Mistral regularly and driven it on weekends for the past 25 years. The odometer now displays a believed genuine total of 78,000 kilometres. Being a true devotee, the owner also kept a logbook recording the distance travelled, servicing undertaken, etc.

Today the Mistral remains highly original and is believed to retain its original silver paintwork and black leather interior. The vendor proudly confirms that in June 2016 the car passed the technical inspection, which is valid in Holland for another two years. A lack of space and a beautifully restored Lancia B24 Convertible keeps the vendor from driving his Mistral, which is the reason it is offered for sale. Noteworthy features include manual transmission, a Nardi steering wheel, Borrani wire wheels and tinted glass. Unusually, the car also retains its original Lucas fuel injection, which is so often replaced with carburettors.

Accompanying documentation consists of its old Dutch registration ‘DH-05-94’ (still valid), sundry service invoices, and the aforementioned owner’s logbook. The car also comes with a parts manual, owner’s handbook, workshop manual and a Lucas Injection handbook.

A unique opportunity to acquire a highly original Mistral 4000 from only its second owner, in arguably the best colour combination and with years of lovely patina. Close inspection is highly recommended.
