Approximately 524 Boras were made from 1972 through 1978. This car represents the end of
an era for Maserati mid-engine supercars. Only two Boras were built after this one and both of
those cars have been modified and neither is currently operational. This Bora, on the other hand,
is all original and in spectacular condition for its age. This car was built in September of 1978
and imported into the USA as a 1977 model. The manufacture date on the door states 12/77, although we know this was done simply to avoid having to meet 1978 regulations.
The colour combination of Oro Longchamp with orange interior sounds hideous but you just have to see the car in person to appreciate its beauty. The paint sparkles in the sun and at first glance, it even appears as though it had a recent high-end paint job. Upon close inspection, you realize not only that the paint is original but that all the decals in the engine compartment and on the body are also original and in very good condition. The same is true with the interior which shows extremely well for its age.
Tires are the proper Michelin XWX. Comes with the original tool roll and manual and a
reproduction of the luggage shown on the Bora’s sale brochure. The hydraulic system has been
serviced and that car runs and drives well. This car won an award at the prestigious 2017
Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance.
